  • [BC Residents] Vancity Investing 1% cash back

Relatively shorter hold period (November 30, 2026) for 1% cash back, Max bonus of $10,000. Transfer/Deposit deadline March 31, 2026.
    What is unclear:
    1. May be not direct investing, since it requires an appointments; although it mentions “No consultation fee”. Their self-direct investment website is directing to Qtrade.
    2. Not sure why they mention “Keep investing until at least July 31, 2026 and we’ll deposit your bonus by September 30, 2026”, and have different hold and payout period at the bottom of the page.
    3. If you have funds in their savings account, looks like it might not be eligible, as they want it to come from external. Sadly, I just deposited a few days ago for the 4.7% HISA.

Anyone using Vancity’s investing can add some info?

  • [Costco] Napoleon Rogue XT 525 nat gas BBQ w/smoker box and cover – $799

Don’t roast me (see what I did there?), but I think this is a pretty hot deal (see what I did there?)

I just was looking for a Napoleon Rogue 525 to buy, and stumbled across this. This model is sold at Rona for $1,249. Home Depot has the basic 525 without smoker box or cover for I believe $999. This Costco listing doesn’t say it’s on sale, but I can’t fathom how this is only $799. For a high-quality 4-burner natgas BBQ this is pretty hard to beat I think.

  • [Lenovo Canada] New SMB stackable code ymmv: $150 off $1000 (new accounts) | ex- Legion 5 Gen 10 w/ 32 GB DDR5 + 5060 upgrades @ $1,317

Noticed this new code for the SMB/ Lenovo Pro store. Other SMB codes have been $50/$100 off $1000+. Never seen $150 off $1000 before.

    Code: NEWPROCUSTOMER

    Note
    1. I believe it’s new accounts only.
    2. SMB / Lenovo Pro store only.
    3. If it says your cart isn’t eligible it’s because the code discounted an item more than the absolute minimum price as set in their system. You can try customer service but I’m not sure if they will override it. OR you can add upgrades (like in my example pic) that will eventually result in your cart becoming eligible.

Although they might have changed it, in the past no business verification was done to sign up for a Lenovo Pro account ymmv.

  • [Nissan] 2025 Nissan Kicks Play S $22,786 + tax (cash purchase)

This seems like a good deal for a basic commuter brand new vehicle. There is a current $2600 cash incentive, which brings the price down to $22,786 + tax.

I would still negotiate for at least 5% off, but expect a hard resistance from the dealers, that are going to tell you that “there is no money in these cars”, that they are loss leaders etc. But don’t be dissuaded. I would expect at least an additional $500 dealer discount but I would push for more, but it depends on inventory as well.

Good tool to check inventory is Visor.vin. Phone around as the dealers with most inventory are most likely to offer further discounts. It’s best to negotiate over the phone to avoid the in-dealership pressure. Once you agree to a deal over the phone get it in writing before you come in!

And of course, you are not obliged to take any dealer accessories or extended warranties”

    Good luck.
