Was just checking out the home hardware flyer and noticed they have MiracleGro potting soil in 50L at $11.47 if anyone needs it.

If you are doing any bucket gardening a 5gal bucket is 18.9L if you filled it just with soil. Now if you are doing a self watering bucket garden (Look up YouTube ‘self watering bucket gardening with Leon) then you can just get by with 3 x 5gal buckets if you are using 355ml popcans at the bottom.

There is still time to plant if you are in the GTA!!! Your romaine lettuce can still grow without a heated greenhouse in -10C if you harvest the leaves in the afternoon as not to shock the plant.

For apartment growers you can grow green beans and take them indoors later as the nights get cooler. I found a green bean I think by the Burpee company called ‘ Trophy ‘ that will have beans in 40days. I got it at the Don Plaza’s No Frills in Toronto in their garden center. I’m sure most grocery store garden centers have shutdown already so you could check out Rona or Home Depot or your local garden center.

Sauteed romaine lettuce with a touch of seseme oil and soy sauce isnt bad. Same with iceberg lettuce if you don’t want to eat it raw for the next while (even tho the CDC declared the diarrhea lettuce issue over) you can steam or saute it.
