A thin and light gigabyte aero x16 that is on a good sale for students who want to play games but need high value gaming portability.

Overall a good deal for those who want a thin and light that isn’t as overprized as a Zephyrus or legion 7i, while it has its compromises like an 85W GPU and lower powered CPU compared to core ultra HX or Ryzen HX3d, it still is fairly capable for 1600p as long as you tweak settings to prevent the 8gb of vram from bottlenecking the 5070’s raster performance.
For most games that the average student will play, it’ll run pretty good at a fair price considering the state of ram and SSD pricings. You’ll be hard-pressed trying to find a 32gb of ram on gaming laptops for under 2k CAD, but there is a cheaper 5060 option with 16gb of ram available at an even cheaper price. This deal just seemed a little better to me.
Albeit it is very late into back to school but this deal has been well received by reviewers on the Canada Computer website so if this deal speaks to you it should be a good option. Not a plug and play laptop (settings must be lowered or optimized in modern and demanding AAA games.)
