After talking to Hilton customer service for an unrelated matter, the rep offered me 500 HH points to listen to a promo pitched by their special sales team.
Apparently they are trying to lure back Canadians. If you talk to customer service for anything, they may give you this offer if you are Canadian.
The pitch is free stays in some locations or deep discounts in others. The package can be used within a year. But you have to signup during the call.
I was offered free stays in California and Florida and deep discounts at Chicago, NYC, and other US locations. 4 days in Chicago plus a Royal Caribbean cruise was offered for $300. There was a surcharge for weekend check-in which can be avoided by checking in Thursday.
I wasn’t ready to commit so I declined. So I don’t know if there are other hidden charges. I might get my wife to call back to try her luck at a later time.
Anyway, l just came back from the US and the people I met from all walks of life were friendly, caring, and helpful. I was actually quite impressed considering the horror stories that come out in social and traditional media.
