The $5.99 price is YMMV at the North York location, though there was no indication of any discount with price marked as $11.99 on the shelf. However, yesterday when scanned with the Ikea Android app for in-store purchase, it scanned at $5.99 and I was able to self checkout, see receipt. Not sure if being an Ikea Family member has any impact.
The pricing could be related to the Hej Day (Feb 27 – Mar 1), but this is a “Now or Never” item. Pricing may expire by end of March 1, not sure.
You must have a Zigbee hub such as Smartthings, this is not for WiFi. If you don’t care about Matter, this is a great deal IMHO, it has been working stably with ST for months and was easy to pair. These also act as Zigbee repeaters for your mesh. It’s finally cheap enough for me to get rid of the Costco Global Wifi plugs.
