This isn’t the case..

There are 2 differences picture wise and one is massive. The 98 inch QM851G only has 5,000 dimming zones. This TV has a different backlight system and has 20,000 dimming zones. It also has what is called the AIPQ ULTRA Processor instead of the Pro processor for picture processing which means it should technically have better upscaling.
20,000 dimming zones should allow this TV to have OLED like black levels. The 98 inch X11L people are raving about now has 20,736 dimming zones… The main issue with the X11L now is that it has poor gaming results.. The bad ghosting it has may be a factor of the new SQD tech that won’t be fully solved with firmware updates… This TV does not have this issue with gaming.
I Still fully expect to get downvoted to hell for this post, but this TV really has gone under the radar. Very little feedback online from actual owners of this TV… However, you will find countless owners of the QM851G very happy with their TV on the latest firmwares. This TV literally destroys the 115 inch QM7K for $15,000 specs wise. There is 0 reason why the QM7K 115 inch shouldn’t be $10K now considering this is 17K
