If you own the digital version of Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360) you can get a free upgrade to the latest Series S/X version. Does not work if you have the disc version.
I heard many users having issues. I was able to go to Xbox.com, log in and after searching for « Red Dead Redemption » I landed on the link that allowed to get if free.
If the deal link does not work,
You may have to log out log in and then a search from scratch on the Xbox.com store.
The page mentioned it would only be free for 14 days.

Question: I have a copy of the Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption and would like to upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version. How do I do this?
Answer: Owners of the digital backward compatible version of Red Dead Redemption can upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version for free via the Microsoft Store on their console.
Ensure that you are logged in to the same Microsoft account on your Xbox Series X|S that owns the digital version of the backward compatible Xbox 360 version
You should then be able to download the upgraded Xbox Series X|S version for free
Note: The digital backward compatible version is playable on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Physical discs of Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 cannot receive the free upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version.
