[Public Mobile] New $25, 4GB plan available to all existing subscribers (including higher-priced)

Okay, this is NOT HOT (and will be a magnet for downvotes) — but I’m posting it because this could be a good interim plan for anyone currently on a more expensive plan with PM, wanting to downgrade OR to allow $25+ plans to show up (this could be a good plan to sit on in preparation for BF, etc.)

Public Mobile just released a new $25 plan this morning, which has the usual unlimited talk & text, plus 4GB of 4G data. I know, it’s not a great plan, and there have been better plans.

As you probably know, if you’re on a more expensive plan (e.g. $34, 35, 40, etc.), you usually won’t see lower-priced plans when they become available. This is a rare case where this plan is visible to all (as of this writing — but that could change). Obviously, it’s of no use and wouldn’t make sense if you’re already on a lower-priced plan (less than $25), unless you could use the extra data. But for someone currently on a more expensive plan, who doesn’t need much data and can live with a Canada-wide only plan for a cycle, this could be a good interim plan in preparation to see/access new plans in the $25+ price range.

If you want this, you’ll want to select it in the web portal or app, and schedule it for your next renewal. Better to do it sooner rather than later, as they could pull the rug on the visibility by all existing customers, as they did with the $18 1GB plan last month (that one only lasted a few hours, and then became hidden to the higher planholders).
