[Public Mobile] Data increase and unlimited calling on $15/19 plans ($15 500MB/$19 2GB) – available to existing $13-15/19 customers only

In keeping with the other active Public Mobile promos/threads, I’m posting here as a public service to existing users who can use the plans. But feel free to downvote — you know you want to!

On Friday (June 6), Public Mobile released a new $15 plan which has 500 MB of data and unlimited Canada-wide calling, plus it includes 100 long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the UK. Its predecessor only had 250 MB data, and 100 minutes of Canada-wide calling, period (or in some rare instances there was a 0 MB data, unlimited Canada-wide minutes version that some people got). This new $15 plan will only show up if you are currently on a $13 or $15 plan. If you’re on an old $13/$15 and could use a bit more data or unlimited minutes and calling minutes, this is a no-brainer. To get the new $15 plan, you’ll have to make a subscription/plan change (schedule for next renewal, or change now, but forfeit the remainder of your current plan that you’ve paid for)

Public Mobile also released a $19 plan with 2GB of data. This replaces the previous $19 plan with only 1GB of data (and of course predecessors of the $19 plan which had 250 MB or 500 MB). This new $19 plan will only show up if you’re on a $19 or lower-priced plan, and only upgrades your data allotment. If you happened to get the December 2024 version of the $19 plan (with 100 international minutes), you’ll forfeit the international minutes on this new plan. Again, you’ll have to choose this plan (scheduled change on renewal, or change now and forfeit prepaid remainder of existing plan) so that you get the extra data.

It doesn’t look like these are visible/available to new subscribers. In fact the $19 plan for new sign-ups is still the 1GB version. Hopefully these will be the new “permanent” low-cost plans, and not time-limited; I could not find any promo expiry date, but if you’re currently on a $13/$15/$19 plan and want the upgrades, you might want to lock them in, in case they go away!

These 2 plans are selectable on my old $13 line:

Edit: Title update for clarity
Edit: Corrected minutes on old $15 plan (100 min, not unlimited)
Edit: Title updated further with additional information
Edit: Added 100 international calling minutes which is included with the new $15 plan
Edit: Further update to title to emphasize this is for existing $13/15/19 customers, so the $20+ customers stop complaining that YMMV and they don’t see the plans, despite the description already indicating this.
