Owner Keiya shared with Noms Magazine that the braised hamburger curry is a dish close to his heart, originally made by his longtime prep cook, Kaoru, who’s been with him since day one.

“She always brought me home-cooked breakfast, and her braised hamburger was my favourite. I told her I wanted to share it with everyone for our 5th anniversary.”

The Yuzu Amazake Soda is equally meaningful.

It features amazake, a sweet, fermented rice drink made by Kizuna Sake Inc., a Penticton-based sake brewery that Keiya is part of.

Infused with yuzu, the drink is light, refreshing, and packed with health benefits, which is a nod to Keiya’s mission of sharing more than just food, but also wellness and culture.

UPDATE (6/2): I just visited Mr. Japanese Curry and spoke to staff, to ask for clarification on what exactly is being offered. The $10 curry dish is NOT a regular menu item, it is off-menu, a limited time offer of a braised beef & pork hamburger patty, Regular size, Regular spice level, Regular 300g rice, with Beef curry sauce 200g (extra toppings/modifications cost extra) – for $10 during promo period. It can be ordered dine-in or take out, but in-person only (i.e. not via Uber Eats or online delivery). Also, the Amazake Yuzu Soda will be priced at $7 during the promotion period (it is regularly priced at $8).

EDIT 2: For those wondering, according to Mr. Japanese Curry’s online ordering website menu, Curry dishes are priced between $15.00 (Vegetable/Pumpkin Croquette Curries) and $21.00 (‘Mr. Curry’). ~~It appears that the Menchi Katsu Curry is priced at $16.00 – and the upcoming June 9-14 promotion will have it priced at $10.00.~~

EDIT: Thanks to @dillybravo for the tip, I also belatedly did a Japanese-to-English translation on the Instagram post’s content written in Japanese … and it mentions ‘stewed Hamburger curry’. ~~Which equates to the online menu’s ‘Menchi Katsu Curry’.~~ Updated deal Title and attached a screenshot of the Menu from the website for reference.

This came up on my Instagram feed, it seems that food Instagrammer morokoko has the inside scoop on an upcoming 5th Year Anniversary promo by Mr. Japanese Curry … though I’m not familiar with what a ‘braised Hamburg curry’ actually is … for one thing, it is not a visibly displayed item on Mr. Japanese Curry’s online menu

If/when I find out more concrete details about this June 9-14 promo (e.g. the ‘braised Hamburg curry’), I will update the deal URL/Title/Description accordingly.
