For some absurd reason- HP has put a proper OLED display on this mid-tier Omnibook and now BestBuy has put it on sale further lowering its price. Lenovo, Asus or Dell usually throw a basic 1200p OLED at this price range, so its wild to see a really good OLED display on a newer laptop. The laptop also has a metal body, Windows Hello with presence detection, plenty of connectivity, replaceable storage, Wifi7 and a stylus. Which comes to the con: Its a NEW lower-end Ryzen chip. So it might be slower than some of the newer Ultrabook chips like the Lunar Lake and other Ryzen AI chips. There are no reviews for this chip and so there’s no way to know just yet. Furthermore, because the chip is so new there’s very little modding- so you can’t use Ryzen controller to control this chips TDP ![]()
This laptop is a bit like buying a Mercedes E-class with the B-Class Nissan made 1.3 diesel engine. So a well featured car and very efficient- but probably not very fast. I’ve had the laptop for a day now and the OLED looks really good, but at full brightness it kills battery (10% per hour). Idle battery drain has been pretty good too (5% lost over night). It has been very good at basic work like browsing, remote desktop and music.
Lots of availability at BestBuy, Vancouver.
