This is a hobbyist to professional level printer, which you can use to sell prints with
I had this printer, and can tell you a few of the pros and cons
PROS
– it’s dye ink (Chromalife 100+), not pigment – so prints won’t last forever, but well past a lifetime
– 8 dedicated dye inks, so you get near perfect colour rendition
– A3+ prints, top loader, back feeder
– very high quality, if not the best quality prints for a dye printer
– ink is relatively affordable for a printer of this quality
– comes with Canon’s software for Mac and Windows, with color-matching and a print editor (unlike Canon’s G620 which only supports airprint for mac)
– comparable to the Epson 8550, which retails for $900 (but is a mega-tank printer)
CONS
– this is a not a family printer for 4×6 prints; this is for producing large high quality prints at 8×10, A3, and A3+
– massive footprint needs a dedicated space for it
– must have a solid base on which it is placed; this thing will shake the average desk, and prints will have lines among other artifacts if it’s not on a rock solid base
– it’s slow; and really a dedicated photo printer
– ink replacement: $150 for a set of 8 cartridges will give you approx 800 4×6 prints (but you woudn’t use it for that, right?) You can replace individual inks for about $20 each
– ink is expensive in comparison to mega-tank printers

Why I sold it:
While producing phenomenal prints, It’s massive and needs a stable base (most desks won’t work), and beyond my needs as a hobbyist (I don’t sell prints)
If someday I retired and had a dedicated studio space, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this printer
