Dear ZED Community,We wanted to share an important update about ZED’s future.
Our studio, From Away Games, recently acquired the rights to ZED. This was a meaningful step for us, as we remain deeply inspired by the game’s emotional story, its beautiful world, and the vision of our cofounder Chuck Carter, the original creator. We also have a future vision for where we hope to take the story from here.
However, we are a small independent team without the resources to maintain or update the version of ZED last updated in 2019. After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to sunset ZED in its current form.
As part of this process, ZED has been removed from sale on digital storefronts, which will soon include Steam. Existing owners will continue to have full access to download and play the game.
We sincerely thank everyone who has supported ZED over the years. It is a work that touched many people, and we are honored to help preserve its legacy.

ZED is the story of an aging artist, lost in regret and the haze of dementia. Inside the dreamscape of this creative mind come undone, players reassemble the artist’s fragmented memories into a final, lasting legacy: a loving gift to his granddaughter.
