Spring is in the air! Time to start thinking about riding your bike again.
Princess Auto has the KAC E2 platform bike rack on clearance for $28.51, down from $69.99, which that is down from the original price of $400+
I was going to get one of these to replace my KAC S3 hanger-style rack, but I decided against it, mainly because;
- The E2 does not fold up towards the body of the car, but the arms do fold up. So you will never gain space when folded and not in use.
- The E2 does not fold down towards the ground, so depending on your car, you may need to remove your bikes completely in order to open your hatch. Probably not an issue for sedans with trunks.
- Because of point 1 & 2, if you have no bikes on it, and it’s folded up, you’ll need to fold it down flat in order to open the hatch. Just another step.
These are probably not dealbrakers for most people, but something to think about.
The E2 is the model below the better and more-featureful K2, however all those are gone. Unless you can find missing stock in your PA. Stocktrack shows a lot of the E2 are available at the majority of locations.
Will fit 1-1/4″ and 2″ trailer hitch receivers.
