  • [Amazon.ca] Four medium-duty 2″ workshop casters for $11

I got a set delivered this morning. I just ordered a couple more because the price-quality is pretty good. Cheaper than when at Princess Auto on sale. Amazon claims that pretty much same ones by other sellers go for between $19-$24. These are $11 today. Hence why I claim it’s 40% off an not 15%. If these can continue to sell for $12.99 then that would be great,

A set of these casters should handle a weight of a grown man with ease. Durable enough with locks on every wheel, these should be pretty good for building your own tools stands or general-purpose shop organizing dollies.

Wheels have two prefab bearings each, and loose ones on top under the mounting plate. Bolt is 4.8 mild steel. Stamped metal thickness better than I expected. A set of #12 1″ screws are included.

  • [Google.com] Gemini 2.5 Pro (experimental) was exclusive to Gemini Advanced subscribers (CA$26.99/month) – now free for all users

I belatedly came across this as it was a Saturday weekend announcement (via X/Twitter) versus a weekday announcement by Google …

Gemini 2.5 Pro is taking off πŸš€πŸš€πŸš€

The team is sprinting, TPUs are running hot, and we want to get our most intelligent model into more people’s hands asap.

Which is why we decided to roll out Gemini 2.5 Pro (experimental) to all Gemini users, beginning today.

Try it at no cost at http://gemini.google.com

… and it is surprising because pro/paid subscription features typically trickle down to non-paying/free tier users after many weeks/several months … but here, this comes less than 1 week after the Gemini 2.5 Pro model launched on Tuesday March 25th, exclusively for Gemini Advanced paid subscribers (CA$26.99/month):

    Relevant Articles

Google Gemini’s powerful new 2.5 Pro model is already available to free users (Android Police – March 30 2025)

    SUMMARY

    • Google Gemini has rolled out its powerful new 2.5 Pro experimental model to non-paying users, just days after its arrival on Gemini Advanced.
    • Despite being available to free users, there will be some restrictions in place, such as rate limits.
    • The Gemini 2.5 Pro experimental model brings improvements to coding, math, and science queries, while also outranking industry competitors in benchmarks.

Google is surprisingly rolling out Gemini 2.5 Pro (exp) to free users (9to5Google – March 29 2025)

Looking ahead, it’s not clear whether Google will make the stable version of 2.5 Pro free to all Gemini users, or whether today’s move is just for the testing phase. Before this, it seemed like 2.0 Flash Thinking and 2.0 Flash were going to be the free offerings.

  • [Dollarama] Dollarama Deals (Mar 31, 2025)

These are the non-Dollarama branded products (ie. The hidden gems). Dollarama has decent Dollarama branded products but that’s not the idea of my posts. I’m looking for the good stuff.

As seen at a the Landsdowne Mall location in Richmond, BC.

These products may not be restocked and are probably not typically carried.

As Temporel has mentioned in the past, “The idea of posting pictures is to show what you COULD find and should look for. That doesn’t mean you WILL find what is pictured. Not every item is available at every stores. The Dollarama business model is often selling end-of-the-line products or liquidations and that means not enough stock for its > 1,000 stores in Canada. Not enough stock also to keep provisioning stores for weeks and months. So if you find something that suits you, stock-up as the odds are the product will be gone the next time you shop. If you don’t find what you want at your local store, check another a few blocks away.”

  • [KMS Tools] M12 FUEL HACKZALL & 4Ah M12 Battery – $144.46

    PLEASE READ BEFORE CLICKING LINK

KMS has 2 deals going on simultaneously. They have a bunch of “get a free battery” deals, and for the next few days they have “15% off all milwaukee” deal.

These stack, so if you add the tool to your cart (the battery will be added automatically), and then use coupon code MILW15 at checkout, it brings the combo down to $144.46 before tax.

Also, they have MAP (minimum advertised price) requirements, so the price shown isn’t always the price that you get charged. IF it says MAP, it will be lower.
