I’ve never seen this go on sale before, but all annual plans at chess.com (via the app) are 50% off for the first year. After that, it reverts to the regular price if you don’t cancel.

I didn’t confirm this applies to iOS, I only checked Android.

Tim Hortons has dropped a fresh offer in the app for this week and it’s actually a good one for a change.
$1 plus tax for Brewed Coffee, iced Coffee, Brewed Tea and Speciality Tea. It’s marked on my app as Multi-Use.

It is quite possibly YMMV but also could be a national offer to compete with McDonald’s $1 Iced Coffee summer drinks promotion. $1 iced coffee for the week at Tim Horton’s suits me fine as I usually pay $3.80 with tax.

There are some decent fares in the $1100 range showing for September from Toronto to South Asia (Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka). These flights are on Cathay (via Hong Kong) and include a checked bag and a carry on. Kathmandu in particular is hardly ever on sale, so to see $1175 for that is indeed a pleasant surprise.

See sample destinations/dates below (you can certainly do shorter/longer trips / different dates, just play with the dates as the fares are available for a variety of dates, but mostly within the Sep-Oct time frame):

Kathmandu, Nepal – Sep 8-23, $1174

Mumbai, India – Sep 10-24, $1109
New Delhi, India – Sep 4-23, $1110
Bangalore, India – Sep-1-17, $1120
Chennai, India – Sep 18-Oct 1, $1105

Ironically, it is much more expensive to book just to Hong Kong (sample dates I looked at were $600 more). As tempting as it might be to book the cheaper ticket and skip the onward leg from HKG, I wouldn’t do it – you can have your ticket cancelled and possibly be blacklisted.
