The part that I feel makes the deal hot is if you have a large purchase coming up ie: a trip.

Got this on my Amex Simp-Cash. YMMV

Make a qualifying grocery purchase of at least $50 in-store using your registered Card directly at a participating small grocery merchant in Ontario by 31/08/2025 and earn a one-time $5 statement credit.

They have a map to search which “Small Grocery” are participating. Most of the chain are not.
One thing very interesting, one of the small grocery store near me specifically said NO AMEX at their cashier, and have a label on their card machine said NO AMEX.
But that store is listed as part of this promo.
