I was at the Hillside Location in Victoria, BC and noticed that they had the Super Tech Full Synthetic for $9.00/5L bottle. I’m guessing they’re trying to clear stock so YMMV but it might also be available at other locations so worth checking out.

I picked up 4 bottles and they still had quite a bit of stock left for both viscosities.

Staples is doing a promo to take $100 off a Windows laptop that’s over $999.

Decent price even at $1099.99 online without recycling old laptop. With trading in and old laptop for recycling, I think it’s a fairly hot deal at $999.99 if you have a Staples near you with stock.

Pros:
– Ryzen AI7 350, with iGPU 860M graphics decent for some gaming
– 24GB ram – better than the standard 16GB in this price range
– flip/2-in-1 and touchscreen

Cons:
– sadly not OLED
– resolution not the best for 16″
– battery life for latest gen Ryzen should be decent but probably not as good as the Lunar Lake ones

If you’re looking for strictly a gaming laptop, this is not a good choice. This is a good compromise of nice screen, basic/entry level dGPU, in a slick Macbook Pro like package. Wouldn’t get this if you want something with good battery life. Entry/mid spec Lunar Lake laptops will be much better for that. Build quality seems to vary based on reviews. Do your research before buying.

Sharing as I think this is the lowest I’ve seen it, even lower than Geek Squad open boxes. CCC shows ATL. I would buy if I didn’t have too many laptops already.

Perkopolis: Perks25GOLDCA!

Add the protective case for discounted price of $29.99. Seems to be the top specced model.

This is a niche device. Don’t get it if you’re looking for a powerhouse, great screen, multi-tasking. I think this is a great secondary device, albeit, an expensive one. Strictly a Surface Pro competitor. Too bad the Gen 2 didn’t upgrade the screen. Gen 1 was a Surface Pro 7 Plus competitor. Gen 2 keeps the same screen but upgrades the processor, not sure if any/many other changes.

Pros:
– great build quality and keyboard from reviews
– comes with keyboard and pen, would probably cost you $350+ to get for Surface Pro
– 164U should have decent battery life, but not a powerhouse
– 32GB ram plenty
– serviceable parts including battery from what I’ve read

Cons:
– screen is FHD+, 60Hz
– small screen if it’s your only laptop and not connecting to external monitors
– form factor not ideal for lap-top use
– limited ports, only one of the USB-C ports is thunderbolt I believe

I want this but I got the Surface Pro 7 Plus refurbished deal from Visions a few months ago and it’s more than enough for my usage, although the battery does leave me wanting more.
