  • [Multiple] [Washington state, USA] May 9-11: Canadian visitors get up to 30% off their bill at participating restaurants, breweries

In previous years that the Major League Baseball season has the Toronto Blue Jays play an away game against the Seattle Mariners (in Seattle), a good number of Canadians have come over to visit Seattle for that weekend coinciding with the Mariners vs Blue Jays game … and in doing so, typically spend their money on food/drinks, accommodation, shopping etc. at standard U.S.-Canada exchange rates – without any widespread discounts for Canadian visitors.

This year, for the upcoming Friday May 9th 2025 Mariners vs. Blue Jays game at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, there is a new campaign by Seattle hospitality/tourism-oriented businesses and restaurants, called “Open Arms For Our Canadian Friends”

We love our Canadian neighbors. And we regret how our federal government is treating you. We wish we could change what happens in the other Washington.

What we can do is show you our thanks for being here. So, we’re taking the Canadian dollar at par — marking 30% off your tab to account for the exchange rate. It’s our way of saying, “We’re glad you’re here, and we’re on your side.”

Redeem your discount by showing valid Canadian identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.). Check with each participating business as eligibility may vary.

This targeted set of discounts is noteworthy for Canadians who were already planning to – or had not been thinking of – going to visit Seattle (e.g. attending the Mariners vs. Blue Jays game) this upcoming May 9-11 weekend.

  • [Broadway Camera] Sony A6700 camera

The Sony A6700 camera is currently $100 off (available on the body only or on both kit sets). For either the 16-50mm or the 18-135mm kit, they are throwing in a Sony Z-Series NPFZ100 Rechargeable Battery and a Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB SD card as bonus.

Sony also currently have a trade-in offer. You get additional $100 off by bringing in your working interchangeable lens camera from any brand. You don’t have to surrender the camera. They just need the serial number of it to give Sony. https://bccamera.com/sony-trade-in-trade-up-promotion/

If you are a college or university student (or if you can bring someone with who is, with student ID) to the store, you can also get 10% off discount. I was told that this discount will be lower once tariff kicks in, which is anytime now. https://bccamera.com/sony-edu/

Unfortunately, you cannot stack the trade-in and student discounts.
