It’s that time of year when Canadian Tire sells their Stanley Professional Grade wrench sets for what they’re actually worth, and not their usually overinflated regular price. The 36pc set is particularly good, as it usually only drops to about $74.99 during these sales.

Unlike Mastercraft or regular Stanley, Stanley Professional Grade is a decent mid-tier wrench set that sits between Stanley and Stanley Proto in the Stanley tool lines. The black chrome finish is super sexy and they’ve got a lifetime warranty.

I have the 36pc set and the ratcheting set. What I find annoying is that their 36pc set isn’t comprehensive. It doesn’t include the 16mm from the metric set, nor the three largest SAE wrenches. And of course, you can’t buy them separately. Still, you probably won’t miss them if you can’t find them single from third party retailers (mainly eBay) or sub in the similar Stanley Proto wrench (also black chrome).

$199 is still steep but for serious runners this is a great deal since they regularly go for $400 and they are top of the line. They are best for long runs in marathon training (more than 18k). They are a little too heavy for race day unless you are a first timer or looking at a slower pace. A good range of sizes still available.
