For fans of affordable fish & chips in metro Vancouver BC, this is some good news:

Back in May 26th 2025, after a period of operating for 28 years, the Sea House Fish and Chips restaurant on 3003 Kingsway in Vancouver BC closed their doors – an end to their two Asian grandmothers who had regularly served their well-reviewed offerings of prawns, calamari, fish and chips (daily lunch special $9.50 1pc cod/fries/can of pop; $15.50 halibut option) – Facebook post (May 26, 2025)

On July 26th, the new restaurant Noople Noodles and Dumpling House with new ownership soft opened where the Sea House Fish and Chips used to operate – and they re-hired the same Asian grandmothers on a part-time basis, so they could keep preparing and serving prawns, fish and chips to customers. As for the menu, it’s a mashup of old comfort and spicy newness.

Sea House’s classic fish and chips lives on (yes, that same light, crispy batter), now listed under Noople’s soft opening specials.

And while the regular menu only has the two-piece, the soft opening menu still offers a one-piece version for just $8.

A solid deal, and a nostalgic bite.

The rest of the menu leans heavy into Chongqing-style noodle territory.

I was looking if Rave 3 would come back on sale, and noticed another deal instead – Rave 2 Neo.

This speaker is smaller than Rave 3, but still got “rave” reviews

Noticed that the Duo temp Pro is $399 at a lot of stores, its not the most modern espresso machine but even in 2025 it seems like it still holds its own.

Q: Why didn’t you just say $300+?
A: Because there’s just a few of them at that price, but tons at $399. if you’re motivated enough you can probably get one at $399

Harbour Air is currently offering a new unlimited flight pass for one year at 4 quarterly payments of CAD$1,799 plus GST.
The pass covers Includes their whole network, including Tofino, Whistler & Seattle and 25 lbs of baggage each flight.
That works out to $600/month. For commuters, those with family on or off the island, etc. this could be a fantastic deal. Same day Victoria-Vancouver flights cost as much as $509 though often fares can be much lower.
You do pay terminal fees & fuel surcharges etc for each consumed flight so there will be a small cost, and there are cancellation/change fees, presumably so you don’t hold a bunch of seats that you don’t plan to use.
