  • [Amazon.ca] Tribit StormBox 2 Bluetooth Speaker $64.99

I was perusing a wired.com article https://www.wired.com/review/tribit-stormbox-2/ about best portable speakers and came across the Tribit StormBox 2 which they rated highly (9/10) and as their best budget blutooth speaker @ $80 USD. I clicked the link to amazon.ca and they have it on for $65 CDN. I ordered it and it arrived today. Seems like a nice little unit for $65. Wired notes that it’s best played at half volume or so, both to keep distortion down and to extend the battery life, rated at 24 hours/charge.

  • [Rona] Greenworks 20-in 48 V Brushless Li-Ion Push Lawn Mower

Saw this today – I’ve been browsing for one (for my dad) for a couple weeks.

Seems like a great deal. Reviews vary between 4.1/5* to 4.8/5* on various sites.

Also available at WM (where I ordered one, as it was 0.01c cheaper 😂 and a few mins away from home vs. my nearest RONA @ 20min)

    Link for WM: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Greenworks … 0208675011
Seemingly WM doesn’t show it “on sale” but I swear these weren’t around before at this price range – like I said, I’ve been looking for weeks.

All in all, a 3yr Warranty. 20″ STEEL cutting deck (I wanted this specifically vs. plastic), mulching bag, etc. 2x 24v batteries (yes, I know they’re 4 AH – but its good enough for almost all users…). Can’t go wrong IMO.

Much smaller 13″ (who TF even buys one this small of a mower?!) and 17″ of various brands are in this price range, or within 50$ of it… so may as well go bigger.

Oh, and its lime green so +1 point there too. 😎

  • [Google] 6 free months of Google AI One Pro for select Samsung Galaxy devices

I’m not sure why Samsing hasn’t advertised this at all, this came up on my Google news feed, courtesy of Forbes:

“Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 users qualify for six months of Google AI One Pro, which typically costs $19.99 per month. AI One Pro is essentially Google’s rebranded AI Premium subscription tier, which includes access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, filmmaking tool Flow, Gemini in Workspace apps and 2TB of storage, alongside other AI tools.”

I have an S25 Ultra and just got the deal. You have to download the Google One app, and it should show up right after setup if you have one of the above phones. I can’t say I will use the AI features much, but the free cloud storage is nice. You can sign up, then immediately cancel to prevent being billed after the 6 months are up – you keep access to the 6 months of the service. I can’t find anything about when the deal expires.
