  • WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard, FYF, $450 Welcome points, 1st checked bag free

WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard, FYF, $450 Welcome points

Most useful feature (to me at least) is 1st checked bag free. Note WestJet is changing the policy of this and a few other features:
    https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/rewards/c … orld-elite

Old 1st checked bag free policy:
Valid for primary cardholders of a WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard (“Eligible member”) and up to eight (8) additional guests travelling on the same reservation, provided that the Eligible member’s 9-digit WestJet Rewards ID appears on the reservation at the time of check-in. Offer not valid for companions when travelling on a group booking (10+ guests on the same reservation). Valid on itineraries marketed and wholly operated by WestJet; not valid when travelling with WestJet’s code-share or interline partners. Size and weight of baggage must comply with WestJet’s standard checked baggage allowance. Any piece of baggage exceeding the size or weight allowance is subject to all applicable oversized weight and size restrictions and fees.

    New policy:
The Free First Checked Bag benefit is available to the primary cardholders of a WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard (“Eligible Primary Cardholders”) and up to eight (8) additional guests travelling on the same reservation, provided that (i) the ticket purchase (original and/or exchange) is paid for with a WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard (“Eligible Card”); and (ii) the Eligible Cardholder’s 9-digit WestJet Rewards ID appears on the reservation at the time of check-in.
The Free First Checked Bag benefit will apply if a booking is made entirely (or partially, in combination with an Eligible Card) using any of the following (or any combination of the following), as long as the Eligible Primary Cardholder’s WestJet Rewards ID appears on the reservation at the time of check-in: (a) redemption of WestJet points; (b) Travel Bank; or (c) WestJet gift card. “WestJet” or “WestJet Vacations” must appear as the merchant of record for the form of payment. This means that a WestJet flight or a WestJet Vacations package purchased from a travel agency, Visa Checkout or a third-party booking site, may not be eligible for the First Free Checked Bag benefit.
The Free First Checked Bag benefit will be cancelled if the account associated with the Eligible Card is closed for any reason. Guests with reservations booked prior to becoming an Eligible Primary Cardholder are eligible for the Free First Checked Bag benefit, as long as the Eligible Primary Cardholder’s WestJet Rewards ID is added to the reservation prior to check-in.
The Free First Checked Bag benefit is valid only on itineraries marketed and wholly operated by WestJet. The Free First Checked Bag benefit is not valid (i) for companions when travelling on a group booking (10+ guests on the same reservation); (ii) on WestJet Vacations Quebec or Sunwing Vacations bookings; or (iii) when travelling with WestJet’s codeshare or interline partners.
Size and weight of baggage must comply with WestJet’s standard checked baggage allowance. Any piece of baggage exceeding the size or weight allowance is subject to all applicable oversized weight and size restrictions and fees.

$450 of welcome points: You will receive 25,000 welcome WestJet points upon your first purchase (“Welcome WestJet Points”).  To receive the additional 20,000 WestJet points (“Additional WestJet  Points”), (i) a total of $5,000 (“Qualifying Transaction Amount”) or more in qualifying net purchases and/or pre-authorized bill payment transactions (“Qualifying Transactions”) must be posted to your Credit Card Account within the first three (3) months of your Credit Card Account opening date (“Period”)and (ii) your Credit Card Account must remain open and in good standing at the time the Additional WestJet Points are awarded to your WestJet Rewards account, approximately six (6) weeks after the date you reach the Qualifying Transaction Amount.

  • [Disney] 25% off 4-Day+ Disney World tickets (Canadian Offer)

Probably going to take a beating for posting this but if it saves someone money, I’ll take the down votes. Similar to last year. I could not find an expiry.

Canada residents can save 25% or more on 4-day or longer Walt Disney World theme park tickets. This is a date-based ticket that requires you to select a start date at purchase. Valid for tickets with start dates from:

    • November 9 to December 12, 2025
    • January 4 to September 26, 2026

So you can even save on tickets for Canadian March Breaks and summer!

The ticket is valid for admission beginning on the selected start date and must be used within a limited number of days, depending on ticket length and type. Learn more about the ticket use period.

Savings based on the nondiscounted price a non-Canada resident pays for the same ticket. Savings vary between 25% and 32% depending on the selected start date.

You can also pay with Disney Gift Cards that can be purchaed at Loblaws, Sobeys, etc, This is another great way to earn some cashback or credit card points. You can only use $1000 gift card max online, but if you call they can process as many gift cards as you want. Be sure to purchase the Disney gift cards not the Disney+ gift cards as they are not interchangeable.

  • [Canadian Tire] Champion 7500W Generator (Honda GX390 Engine) – YMMV – $897-$1399 (up to 55% off)

The Champion generator has a Honda GX390 389cc engine in it; depending where you are, you can pick it up for 55% off. Most stores have limited supply; 1-2 in some locations. Cheapest in in NL, some in Ottawa, Sarnia.

    generator: https://www.championpowerequipment.com/ … co-shield/ (3 yr warranty)

Decent deal if you can pick it up for $1299 or less, and good timing given we’re now coming to winter / power outage season in many areas in Canada as it gets colder (ugh).

  • [Home Depot] [GTA Ellesmere Scarborough] Ryobi 40V 8″ earth auger $199 (down from $479)

Just saw at least 5 boxes of tool-only Ryobi 40V 8″ earth augers at Ellesmere home depot in Scarborough. Marked down from $479/499 to $199. This is slightly more than I paid about 5 months ago but lower than the last deal posted here.
Some were in indoor and some outdoor garden sections.
