New offer as of June 15th 2025 good to Jul 1st 2025
-Card doesn’t charge FX fees (save 2.5% when shopping overseas vs. other credit cards)
-30,000 Scene+ Points ($300 on travel or groceries) after spending $2000 in 3 months
-10,000 Scene+ after spending $40,000 in one year (lol probably not gonna happen but I can dream)
–$200 cashback rebate from Frugal Flyer
-offsets $150 annual fee + $50 profit
EDITS
Also includes 6 free lounge passes every year (via the DragonPass system), thereafter you can buy entry at $32-35 USD (I wouldn’t but at least no FX fees lol)
On lounges: each lounge pass is only good for 1 person, but apparently getting a supp card will give you +6 lounge passes (YMMV)
New math Math: total benefit is $300 in pts + $200 cashback – 150 annual fee = $350 for $2000 spend, plus 6 lounge passes and no FTF
Also can get free supp cards for extra lounge passes
Signup bonus offer good to July 1st, so plenty of time to apply.
I really need a new no-FX card that isn’t an Amex now that HSBC is being bought by RBC, new applicants can’t even get their World Elite and I’ll bet RBC gives it the axe. The Passport Visa Infinite is a much better solution even with the $150 annual fee.
Scene+ are also much easier to use for me because you can use them right at the cash register at Sobeys/Cineplex or online.
Personally, I’ve used Frugal Flyer, CreditcardGenius, and GreatCanadianRebates. After I got the HSBC World Elite From Frugal Flyer, they’re my preferred vendor as they tend to pay much, much faster than GCR, and it’s convenient because it comes in via PayPal so I can transfer it wherever.
since the last time I wrote this post Frugal Flyer has consistently been much faster on paying rebates than GCR/CCG – your mileage may vary but it’s been fast
CONFIRMED still super fast for BMO Air Miles World Elite October 2024, I have a BMO claim with CCG outstanding 6+ months and they don’t even respond to their emails, Frugal Flyer has always done right by me
