Was looking at weighted blankets on Shopper’s Drug Mart for the Black Friday Redemption Event (because you all bought up the gaming consoles for the final year) and ended up not going through with it as I found WAY better deals on Wellwise by Shopper’s (yes it’s an affiliated online store by SDM, which is interesting since they already have SDM but appears without the significant markups).
They have Gravid, which is a very popular (I believe) Canadian brand for weighted blankets that are normally way overpriced when buying direct or anywhere else. They also have a President’s Choice weighted blanket.
Then, I also stumbled upon the Dream Away weighted blanket from Showcase, which I actually purchased back in 2021 and have no complaints with it and would recommend. Still holds up fine to this day. Got it for $10 less than the current sale last time for the 15 lbs.
I wanted to try a 20-lb one so bought the Gravid one. Note: looks like Wellwise only has twin and queen size remaining. Dream Away/Showcase blankets are twin size.
If you don’t know what a weighted blanket is or never tried one before, basically they are blankets, kind of like a comforter, filled with tiny glass beads or sand to make them weighted and heavier so the blanket really hugs and wraps around you. The added weight is meant to help with sleep disorders, anxiety, ASD and restless leg syndrome, or just general comfort.
These might make some pretty good Christmas gifts if not for yourself, so wanted to share.
