Just looking at the flyer and noticed that the cabbage, orange, and eggplant are on sale. I think that is the lowest price I’ve seen cabbage at.

The cabbage is flat so for some that size might be good when shoe horning that into your storage shelves. Cabbage holds well too. Just unwrap the layers as you need it and wrap the plastic wrap back on it. I’m on week 3 of my cabbage.

At this price stock up and make coleslaw, kimchi, etc . With the whole diarrhea lettuce worry the last while (CDC just declared the outbreak over) and people still iffy about using lettuce give cabbage a try.

When I got a few burger deals at freshco a month ago I was cutting up some thin sliced cabbage and sauteeing it in pan with a touch of soy sauce then putting it on the burger as a lettuce replacement. Worked out well and yummo.

Also check around for canning jars on sale around this time so you can preserve your stuff for later use. There are many water bath canning recipes out there on Bernadin (canning jar company) and the US Dept of Agriculture canning extension website.

Waterbath canning is accessible to everyone without specialized equipment like a pressure canner. Just note well that water bath canning requires a higher level of acid to keep things safe like vinegar or lemon juice.

Many jar sizes out there to use and Dollarama sells the standard and Inthink the wide canning lids as well.
