Generally Longan goes for about $10-$13 a kg.

Longan is a small, round tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia.
It has:
A thin, light brown shell that cracks easily
Translucent, juicy flesh inside
A single shiny black seed in the center
Because the black seed shows through the clear flesh, it’s often called the “dragon’s eye” fruit.

Taste
Longan is:
Sweet and floral
Mildly musky
Less tangy than lychee
It’s similar to Lychee but usually a bit less perfumed and slightly more honey-like.

How it’s eaten
Fresh (just peel and pop it in your mouth — don’t eat the seed)
Dried (used in teas and soups)
In desserts, fruit salads, or Asian sweet soups
