Unreal Tournament 2004 is now available for free thanks to its fan community, and they’ve even updated the game for modern PCs: ‘This is the first public patch for Unreal Tournament 2004 in over 20 years’ – PC Gamer
Once you’ve downloaded the installer and retrieved the full game, you then need to mosey on over to GitHub to pick up the OldUnreal community patch for UT 2004. This spruces the game up for modern operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
Similar to how Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament (UT99) were released in November 2024 as free downloads (courtesy of Unreal games fan community at OldUnreal) after their having been delisted by Epic Games for sale some years prior, Unreal Tournament 2004 has just been released to the general public.
Full Game InstallersWe currently do not have permission to host the full game on oldunreal.com. Instead, we are allowed to host this installer, which will download the original disc image for Unreal Tournament 2004 ECE from archive.org, extract the disc contents into a folder of your choice, and then install the latest public OldUnreal patch. Enjoy!
Note: Our installer supports Windows 7 and later. We are working on installers for Linux and macOS.
