Looks like changes are coming to the unlocking policy.
Hopefully those that bought before January 12 or whenever they update their policy still get their phone unlocked in 60 days and not have to wait like most other carriers for 1 year and have 12 months of service.

The deal consists of the Moto G Stylus 2025 + TCL 5g tablet for $100 + another $35+ for 2nd month of the Moto to get it automatically unlocked after 60 days. Check previous RFD Straight Talk deals for how to order if you don’t have a US credit card.
- Add the full price Moto Stylus to cart
- Choose $55 plan or $45 if you don’t want Walmart+ membership
- Next screen should ask if you want to add Tablet. Choose the TCL Tab 10 NXTPaper 5G and select the 3 month/$60 plan. There are other Tabs available but this is the best deal.

The order may take a week or two to ship since there is a backlog of orders. Mine came about 1.5 weeks after order. Just have to be patient and wait for it to ship.

The bonus here is that the $55 plan includes a free Walmart+ membership (just in time for Black Friday) and the Tablet comes unlocked out of the box. I tested my Canadian sim when I got home and it works fine.
The Moto will need an extra month of paid service before it unlocks automatically so I recommend downgrading to the $35 plan before the 1st month is up. You will lose your Walmart+ membership if you change to the lower plan.
I recommend activating the phone and tablet in the US as the 60 day clock may not start if the phone has not connected to the network. That’s just my experience from previous Straight Talk/Tracfone deals. Anyone else who was able to get it unlocked without connecting to the Straight Talk network first is welcome to chime in.
*Those with US Amex or Chase cards, check your offers for Straight Talk to save an additional $20-$30 depending on your offer. I can confirm that using Paypal with the Amex card will trigger the cashback. Not sure about Chase.
EDIT – Forgot to mention, don’t try using the Moto sim on another phone while waiting for unlock. This may prevent it from unlocking automatically after 60 days. Signing into your Straight Talk account later on may need a text verification, so ensure you enable wifi calling right after activation. Use any US address when signing up. That way, when you get back into Canada and connect over wifi, you can still receive texts over wifi. For the Tab sim, you can use it on any device if traveling in the US since the Tab is unlocked right out of the box. Just use it until the 3 months service expires.
If you don’t want the Walmart+ membership, you can save $10 by selecting the $45 plan. Thanks @georvu
