Pretty good deal on this mid-range gaming laptop. With the way RAM prices are going and no foreseeable drop in price this year, I’d call it an excellent deal, especially with the pickup bonus.
I highly recommend picking up in-store as you will get $90 pickup bonus credit which you can use to grab some peripherals.
4070 is last gen yes, but the 4070 and 5070 laptop are very close in specs. If you look up comparison videos, at 1440p, they perform very closely in a lot of modern games.
Across 25 games, the 4070 gets 63 avg FPS at 1440p and the 5070 gets 68 avg FPS, a 5 FPS difference. Also worth considering the 5070 laptop had faster RAM and a better processor, so I’d say the average difference is realistically maybe like 3-4 FPS.
The R9-8945HS is also a very fast processor that should have no problem with multitasking especially with the 32GB RAM. Would make for a good psuedo laptop-desktop setup with extra monitors.
