Add the 2% bonus and you arrive at 4.7% (but note this doesn’t take in account any timing inefficiencies or GIC rate changes). I do not know if CIBC reimburses transfer out charge from other institution – thus it might work out to an effective return of something like 4.6% on a 100K transfer.
