I would recommend using Google flights, find roughly the dates you want, then use skyscanner for the lower prices. I’ve mostly found Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Ho Chin Minh, Hanoi and so forth for around $500-$600 on skytracker.
Its mostly Southern China Airlines for Jan/Feb around the posted priced.
For April/May surprisingly you can find some Cathay Pacific for that price point.
Lay overs aren’t too bad, within 2-3 hours. For long trips, i prefer layovers to reset and stretch.
Funny enough for us on the west coast, its cheaper to fly to Asia again(pre covid for those with long memories) then Toronto/Montreal (pending the time frame)
