An eSIM is free and a physical SIM is $5+tax
Thanks to plan customization you can potentially save a lot of money. My monthly cost with Fizz have been around $7.75/month for the last year with 10-20GB of data per month
– Remove Voicemail: Save $1/month. iPhones have built-in live voicemail, eliminating the need for Fizz’s voicemail. For Android you can use the YouMail app.
– Province-only Coverage: Change coverage from Canada-wide to e.g. Ontario-only for a $2/month savings. You can still receive calls from outside your province as long as you are within your province.
– No Unlimited Texts: Save $2-$4/month. Incoming texts = free. Android-to-Android or iPhone-to-iPhone are also free. Texts between Android and iPhone cost $0.05/SMS. Just use Whatsapp, etc. for Android <–> iPhone
– No Unlimited Minutes: If you do not call much, remove unlimited minutes to save up to $7/month (Quebec). Instead, get a call add-on: $3 for 60 minutes, which is good for two months. Calling toll-free numbers (i.e. 1-800) does not use minutes. Not worth it in Ontario since minutes unlimited is only $2.
– Take advantage of data rollover: Choose enough data for three months in Month 1, then remove data for Months 2 and 3.
– Free Data Perks: Fizz frequently provided users with free data perks. This allows me to remove data from my plan which saves me ~$11 a month. I have not paid for data for a year now.
– The longer you stay with Fizz the cheaper your plan will get due to free upgrades, e.g. $1 off, 500MB of data, etc.
