[Rogers] [Black Friday] [ON] Rogers Home Internet – Renewal / New Users – 1.5 Gbps – $45/month for 24 months

My Location: Ontario

Deal Offered to me: $45/month for 2 years contract for 1.5gbps, price locked so no increases mid term, and allowed me to end my existing contract 2 months early with no fees. YMMV because you have to play games they won’t offer this to you at first.

How I got it:

Called rogers to put in a cancellation date for my existing contract ending in Feb (1.5 gbps $65/month), I suggested I’d like to pay $40/month but got offered $70, I said no let’s continue with setting up a cancellation date for mid December. We argued over the cancellation fee because I have 2-3 months left of my 2 year contract and they wanted to charge me for 3 months. I said you system must be wrong and asked to speak to supervisor about the fee. After the hold, the rep said the manager is offering $45/month for 24 months, with an option to start later or immediately.

I confirmed:
* Price is locked for 2 years, they can’t raise it.
* Upload speed was 200 MB/s (improvement for me), Download was 1.5 GBPS same as my existing
* There is no cancellation fee on my existing contract and my new contract starts today.
* No modem fee, no other fees
* They would not offer me a bill credit, said those offers are for new customers.
* After 2 years the prices jumps to $120+ per month. You will need to do this again or find another deal in about 22 months if you don’t want to pay that.
* Early cancellation fee is $15/month

Options for New Customers:
* Before doing this I had talked to a rogers rep (Anup @ 519 574 0587) and was offered a new deal if I cancelled and signed up under my wife’s name for a new internet plan
* Was offered $50/month for 1.5 Gbps + One time $50 Bill credit. Did not receive the $200 as others have. Was told because I didn’t have TV bundle.
* This method is hassle free and you’ll get the offer immediately. I was planning on accepting this which is why I even called in to cancel but rogers beat it without me mentioning I had an offer from someone else.
