This one is last year’s model, so it has a year-old CPU. I still bought it because it is an excellent tablet and I am a light tablet user, and I felt I didn’t need to pay an extra $150 to $200 for the most recent version of this tablet for processing power I didn’t need.
I bought this tablet 2 months ago; it was a good deal. I bought it and never thought about posting it here because I thought it was a one-and-done thing for back to school. Today I was doing some reading and it might still be active, since there are more coupon codes. I thought I would post it and see if you can get in on it.
I bought it from this seller (ok, RFD messes up the links, the seller name is Goldway Store(Trader), yes that is how it is spelled on his store page: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009 … in_prod%3A
You can also try your luck with other sellers, and they also sell other models and variants and colors if interested (edit, the link doesn’t work cause RFD blocks it, you can just go to AliExpress and search “Lenovo Y700” for the same results): https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale- … t.search.0
I used the highest coupon code for the price paid as listed below. There was also a store coupon; not sure if it is a one-time thing. I haven’t bought anything on AliExpress in a long time, so maybe that is why. Just click on the store and it should be under the price if available.
Here is the list of coupon codes (I think these are in USD, so you have to do some math to get the right amount after the exchange rate).

But you are more than welcome to check out other sellers and play around with the coupons to see if you can find a lower price.
Shipping was pretty fast. I can’t recall, it was like 2 weeks? It shipped way faster than I expected (usually it would take about a month to ship from China to Canada for the low-priced items I would buy from China, so I kinda expected the same with this high-end tablet). I was glad that I was wrong since it came faster. Also, they don’t use Canada Post to ship, so you dont have to worry about the strike; I think they used a company called Uniway. It has tracking all the way too, so you can keep track of the package if that is important to you.
As for the tablet, it comes with the China ROM. That means you have to manually enable Google Play Services in the settings. I forget where, but you can google it or ask on Reddit or search YouTube for a guide or post here. It was pretty straightforward. Everything else is the same as the English ROM. You can also disable all the preinstalled Chinese apps if you cannot read Chinese. Overall, I have no problems with the software, but if you are super picky you can wait for a global release and there would be a proper English ROM. I’m not sure how long you will have to wait or if it’s out yet; I didn’t read up on it because my tablet works fine.
This is one of the best smaller tablets on the market, so if you want an iPad Mini-like tablet but at maybe about half the price, then it is well worth it.
That was a lot to type, I hope I got it all in. If anything, just ask questions and I will try to answer them.
(one last thing, you can try going through Rakuten to get some cashback, but I never could get it to work at the same time as the store coupon, so I had to choose one, so I chose the store coupon since it was worth more. If someone can get Rakuten cashback and a store coupon to work at the same time then please post how, thanks)
