When replacing a toilet, check the existing water hose feeding the old toilet – replace with a brand new stainless steel braided hose if possible,

1. If the existing stainless steel braided hose has a toilet connector made of shiny plastic , it should be immediately discarded . These are defective and have been recalled. The plastic connectors tend to break, causing a massive flood in your house if you aren’t home = $$$$$ water damage

2. If the existing hose is made of grey plastic , this is likely poly-b Pipe or Polybutylene pipe. These have been known to go brittle and break or split due to the chlorine in the water resulting in $$$$$ water damage if you aren’t home. These should also be immediately changed.
